How can we reach the flow state or how we can connect more to our flow state in awareness and on-demand through meditation?

First of all. What is a flow state?

This condition, now defined flow state or being in the zone, has been addressed in many ways and is much more ancient than these last decades where it has been studied more scientifically. It is a condition when we find ourselves performing the task that we like, feeling joy in performing it, cooming to us easy but not too easy, so that we don’t get bored. We are fascinated by it and we just lose our perception of time, we get into it and just create and produce.

The actual definition is “experiencing a state of concentration and bliss, experiencing joy, fulfillment, and satisfaction.” This is flow state and you as a creative for sure, have often experienced it but maybe you were not aware of how much you were into it or if you were into it or not. Probably you became aware of it when you went out of it. I was in the process and then it is gone.

This post is here to help you gain a little bit more clarity about it and also help you to reach it easily on-demand.

Studies that have been done proved that entering a flow state equals to slow down the brain waves. When you enter flow state you enter a brainwave length that is called Theta. What does it mean that the brain waves that usually are in Alpha State when we interact normally, slow down, and get into this different state? It means that we will have different ways of response from the outside triggers and information that come to our brain. This state is the same as when we practice deep meditation and energy work.

So, if we are able to consciously access Theta brainwave state, we can also reach flow state on demand. And if Theta brainwave can be reached through meditation or other techniques, then we can replicate this state every time we feel stuck or blocked. This is why it is so very important to think about our system as a holistic system, so as a whole, not only in mind, not only body, not only spirit, not only emotion but a whole system. And we can access one part of it through other parts and even better, we can reach desired states in unconventional ways.

When an artist produces its creations, she or he includes every aspect of the being in the creative process. In this way, the creation will be full and complete and experienceable on different levels. Becoming conscious of this mechanism allows the artist to gain control over the creative process so that the production can increase.

Don’t get prevented by the fact that I speak about spirituality, but try to approach it in a very neutral way. It has nothing to do with religion. It has nothing to do with beliefs usually associated with spirituality. Approach it as a part of yourself: mind, body, but also spirit, because it plays a part.

And it is important that at this point, especially if you do creative work and an artistic contribution, you take this part and you integrate it inside of yourself.

I hope that this post was helpful. Please let me know in the comments if it was, let me know if you enjoyed it and if you have questions about it. I will be super happy to answer them.

I see you again soon!
